Believe it or not a coffee lover like myself can sometimes enjoy the trip more than the coffee itself.
Some may say so what its coffee who cares? Well, when you think about it…the simplest thing such as, coffee, can provide so much more for some people. Most of the time we allow simple things to pass over our heads.
Everyday we all go through life, experiencing all sorts of ups and downs. In the process of all that, we can sometimes take advantage of the little joys we are so blessed to have.
The walk to the mailbox.
A phone call with a friend.
And a trip to the coffee shop!!
You see its not about what’s in the mailbox, the phone you have, or the coffee itself…
It’s about what those things provide you. The ability to walk, the conversation you can have, and just simply leaving your house. These simple things can change someone’s mood and brighten someone’s day. That’s what’s so great about it all. The trip to a coffee shop can make the difference.
The simple parts of our lives are the most important. Many times we overlook them and don’t think about them. The moment we think about them may be the moment we no longer have access to those things. I’m no where near perfect and I’m a work in progress everyday, but I consistently try to put my focus on the little things in life. Those are the things that will get you through.
Just the other day I was feeling down and it was effecting my whole day, so my aunt took me for a drive and got me Starbucks. The moment I stepped outside of the car and walked in I saw a sign full of post it notes will positive messages. I took that as a sign that the day would get better. It put a smile on my face. I grabbed my coffee, got in the car and continued to smile. That one trip to Starbucks brightened my day!
I encourage you all to sit with yourself and think about the small things in life that bring you joy. Practice appreciating these things more and see how quick your days will start to change for the better.
Here are some of my simple pleasures. The things that mean more to me than the objects themselves.

The way a book can draw you in, while being cuddled up in a cozy blanket.
Sitting in the car with the windows down on a beautiful day, while drinking your favorite coffee and something beautiful to go with it.
Something that makes you feel nostalgic, with your sister that’s your best friend.
A few more I would like to share are: The sound of a saxophone, the smell of cookies being made during Christmas time, the way the leaves change color in the fall, and riding a bike during the summer time.
So I’ll ask again… Is it the coffee or the trip?
